The UNESCO cultural conventions provide a unique global platform for international cooperation and establish a comprehensive cultural governance framework based on human rights and shared values. These international treaties strive to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage, including archaeological sites, underwater heritage, museum collections, intangible heritage such as oral traditions and other forms of heritage while supporting creativity, innovation and the emergence of dynamic cultural sectors. Côte d’Ivoire, for its part, has ratified most of the above-mentioned Conventions.
These conventions ratified by Côte d’Ivoire are little known by professionals in the cultural sector and stakeholders. In order to provide advisory support to the Ministry of Culture for the legal interpretation and implementation of these Conventions, a program assistant focused on legal issues will be recruited. Under the authority of the Head of Office and Representative of the UNESCO Abidjan Office and under the direct supervision of the culture program specialist, the contractor will carry out the following tasks: 1. Contribute to the implementation of activities related to the various Conventions; 2. Promote awareness and protection of cultural rights in accordance with conventions;

Provide support to the Culture Program specialist for the formulation and planning of Culture Program activities and projects; 5.
